Persona 4 Revival is the full remake of Persona 4 that Atlus is working on, and it arrives on 18 February 2027 on PC (Steam and Xbox PC, including PC Game Pass from day one), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version follows later, on 20 May 2027. It's based on Persona 4 Golden, so it includes its extra content, and adds graphics rebuilt from scratch, more tactical combat, a brand-new Social Link and animated cutscenes by studio MAPPA. The only thing missing, as of 26 October 2026, is the official PC requirements: Steam still lists them as ‘TBD’.

What follows separates what's confirmed from what's still pending and, since the requirements don't exist yet, offers a reasoned estimate based on Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio, Atlus's two latest big RPGs on PC. At the end you'll find specific builds by resolution and quick answers to the most common questions.

Persona 4 Revival at a glance: release date, platforms and price

  • Price on Steam: €69.99 for the Standard Edition, €84.99 for the Digital Deluxe and €99.99 for the Digital Premium.

  • Languages: text in Spanish (Spain) and Latin American Spanish; voices in English and Japanese.

  • Protection: the Steam version includes Denuvo Anti-tamper.

  • PC requirements: not published as of 26 October 2026.

  • Development and publishing: developed by P-Studio (Atlus) and published by SEGA.

From announcement to release date: the Persona 4 Revival timeline

After months of rumours, the official announcement came at the Xbox Games Showcase on 8 June 2025, with a teaser and no date. Since then, the timeline has gone like this:

  • June 2025: announced at the Xbox Games Showcase. SEGA confirms PC (Steam and Xbox PC), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and its arrival on Game Pass on day one.

  • June 2026: the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 reveals the release date, 18 February 2027, with a new trailer and pre-orders opening. On 18 June, Atlus airs a dedicated livestream on the new combat mechanics and the music.

  • July 2026: at Anime Expo it's confirmed that MAPPA is producing all of the game's animated cutscenes, including some completely new ones.

  • August 2026: a story trailer during Xbox's Gamescom broadcast.

  • September 2026: the Nintendo Direct on 9 September announces the Switch 2 version for 20 May 2027, and a second livestream introduces a new Social Link, Aika Nakamura.

Meanwhile, P-Studio has already shown Persona 6, also announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and still without a date. According to Kazuhisa Wada, head of the studio, it will arrive after Revival.

Persona 4 Revival release date and platforms

The official date is 18 February 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a simultaneous worldwide launch. Nintendo Switch 2 follows three months later, on 20 May 2027, as SEGA confirmed in its press release after the Nintendo Direct. No version has been announced for PS4, Xbox One or the original Switch.

On PC: Steam, Xbox PC and PC Game Pass

On PC there are two routes. The first is Steam, where you can already pre-order it on the official Persona 4 Revival page. The second is the Xbox app for PC: the game joins PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from day one, and it's part of Xbox Play Anywhere, so if you buy it from the Microsoft Store you get it on Xbox console and PC without paying twice.

Two practical details. The Steam page shows 17 February 2027, a day earlier than the date announced by Atlus and SEGA; Atlus hasn't yet detailed the exact unlock time, which is what usually explains these discrepancies, so it's worth checking again closer to launch. On top of that, the store itself states that the Steam version includes Denuvo Anti-tamper DRM.

Editions and prices on Steam

  • Standard Edition (€69.99): the game only.

  • Digital Deluxe Edition (€84.99): the game, the Velvet costume set and four Persona packs.

  • Digital Premium Edition (€99.99): everything above plus the S.E.E.S. (Persona 3 Reload) and Phantom Thieves (Persona 5 Royal) costumes, and two music packs.

Anyone who pre-orders before 17 February 2027 gets the P3R & P5R Extra BGM Set, with tracks from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal to use in the game. Physical editions are only coming out on PS5 and Switch 2; on PC everything is digital. Prices are Steam's euro prices as of 26 October 2026.

Languages: is Persona 4 Revival in Spanish?

For text, yes: the interface and subtitles come in Spanish (Spain) and Latin American Spanish, among fifteen languages. The voice acting is in English and Japanese; SEGA's Asian website adds Simplified Chinese via a post-launch update. There are no Spanish voices.

What changes in Persona 4 Revival compared with Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden

Persona 4 came out on PlayStation 2 in 2008 and its expanded version, Persona 4 Golden, on PS Vita in 2012. Golden is the one many PC players know, because it arrived on Steam in June 2020 and is still on sale. Revival isn't a remaster with new textures: the game is rebuilt from scratch using the visual template of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5, while keeping the story intact. Kazuhisa Wada put it like this in an interview with RPG Site:

‘The original work is brilliant. You can't really change the core identity of it without ruining that.’ Kazuhisa Wada, P-Studio (Atlus)

Golden's content, included as standard

SEGA presents the game as a remake of Persona 4 Golden, and that matters: Marie and the rest of Golden's additions are part of the base game, at no extra cost. It's a clear difference from Persona 3 Reload, which left the FES epilogue (Episode Aigis) for a paid expansion pass.

Revival doesn't just copy Golden. In the September 2026 livestream, Atlus introduced Aika Nakamura, the delivery girl for the Aiya restaurant in the shopping district and a childhood friend of Hanako Ohtani, as a new Social Link. It also unveiled the Location Episodes, scenes tied to places in Inaba that help you get to know the characters better, according to SEGA's official press release. Atlus is also promoting fully voiced Social Links.

Graphics, camera and animated cutscenes

  • Characters, environments and interface rebuilt in the style of Persona 3 Reload, with 2D elements turned into 3D and a battle menu shaped like an old television dial.

  • Free camera in some areas of Inaba, although many areas keep the original's fixed angles.

  • All the anime cutscenes are produced by MAPPA, including completely new sequences created for the remake.

  • The period setting is deliberately preserved: CRT televisions and the switchover from analogue to digital TV are still part of the atmosphere.

More tactical turn-based combat

The familiar foundations are still there (weaknesses, an extra turn for knocking an enemy down and the party's all-out attack), with several new layers shown in the livestreams and in the press's first hands-on sessions:

  • Baton Pass: after hitting a weakness or landing a critical, you hand your extra turn to a teammate to chain attacks.

  • Send Flying: you hurl a Shadow affected by a status ailment into another one to pass that ailment on.

  • Prime Time: once a gauge fills up, for a few turns skills cost no resources and enemy resistances are ignored; it ends with a spectacular finisher from a party member.

  • Guarding while exploring: blocking a Shadow's attack in the dungeon can stun it and give you the upper hand when the battle starts.

Voices and music

The Japanese cast returns, but the English dub is almost entirely new, with Nazeeh Tarsha as the protagonist. Atlus explained that it couldn't bring the whole original cast back together and preferred to start from scratch, a decision that has divided fans. Shoji Meguro's soundtrack returns rearranged by Ryota Kozuka, with new tracks and Shiori Sasaki as the new lead vocalist.

Persona 4 Revival PC requirements: what we know

As things stand, Atlus hasn't published minimum or recommended requirements. The Steam page only states that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required, with everything else listed as ‘TBD’. The tables doing the rounds on some websites with fifteen-year-old processors are placeholders, not official data.

The closest reference: Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio

Persona 3 Reload (2024) was Atlus's first game made in Unreal Engine and shares its studio, style and structure with Revival; the team itself has said it carried over what it learned there. Metaphor: ReFantazio (2024) is the company's most recent and most ambitious RPG on PC. Their official Steam requirements are as follows:

  • Persona 3 Reload, minimum (720p, low quality, 30 fps): Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD FX-4350, 8 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2 GB or Radeon HD 7850 2 GB, 30 GB of space.

  • Persona 3 Reload, recommended (1080p, high quality, 60 fps): Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, 8 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB or Radeon R9 290X 4 GB, 30 GB.

  • Metaphor: ReFantazio, minimum (720p, 30 fps): Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD FX-6300, 6 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 750 Ti 4 GB, Radeon R7 360 4 GB or Intel Arc A310, 93 GB and a CPU with AVX.

  • Metaphor: ReFantazio, recommended (1080p, 60 fps): Intel Core i5-7600 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 970 4 GB, Radeon RX 480 4 GB or Intel Arc A380 6 GB, 93 GB.

Our estimate (unofficial)

Revival clearly looks a cut above Persona 3 Reload, and several outlets mention Unreal Engine 5, although Atlus hasn't publicly specified the engine version. If it uses UE5 with its most advanced lighting systems, the requirements will go up compared with P3R. With that caveat in mind, here's our estimate:

  • Likely minimum (1080p, low or medium quality): a 6-core processor such as the Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8 to 16 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 580 8 GB, and an SSD.

  • Likely recommended (1080p, high quality, 60 fps): Core i5-12400 or Ryzen 5 5600, 16 GB of RAM, GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT, and an NVMe SSD.

  • Disk space: somewhere between P3R's 30 GB and Metaphor's 93 GB; keep at least 100 GB free to be on the safe side.

We'll say it again: these are calculations based on sister games, not figures from Atlus. Once the official requirements are published, the Steam page will be the reference that counts.

Which PC you need to play Persona 4 Revival

Persona 4 Revival is a turn-based JRPG: it doesn't need 240 fps or the minimal latency of a shooter. What you'll appreciate most is a sharp image, fast loading when going in and out of the TV World and a stable frame rate in Inaba. That's why it makes sense to plan your PC by resolution, with some headroom for whatever Atlus ends up asking for and for what comes next, such as Persona 6.

For 1080p at 60 fps on high quality

  • Processor: Ryzen 5 7600 or Core i5-14400F.

  • Graphics card: GeForce RTX 5060 or Radeon RX 9060 XT.

  • Memory: 16 GB DDR5 (32 GB if you play with lots of apps open).

  • Storage: 1 TB NVMe SSD.

It's the most balanced build for most players and should have plenty in reserve if the final requirements turn out similar to Persona 3 Reload's.

For 1440p with everything maxed out

  • Processor: Ryzen 7 7700, Ryzen 7 9700X or Core Ultra 7 265K.

  • Graphics card: GeForce RTX 5070 or Radeon RX 9070.

  • Memory: 32 GB DDR5.

  • Storage: 1 or 2 TB NVMe SSD.

This is the sweet spot for enjoying Inaba's saturated colours and MAPPA's cutscenes on a good 27-inch 1440p monitor.

For 4K or a big TV

  • Processor: Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

  • Graphics card: GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080 or Radeon RX 9070 XT.

  • Memory: 32 GB DDR5.

It's only worth it if you already have a 4K display or want a machine that will last you many years; for this particular game it's more than you need.

Details that often get overlooked

  • Controller: Steam lists full controller support and recommends using one, with support for DualSense and DualShock. If you don't have one yet, take a look at our peripherals.

  • SSD: an Unreal Engine remake loads much better from an NVMe drive than from a hard drive. You'll find options in storage.

  • Video memory: for 1440p, 12 GB of VRAM or more is better; recent Unreal Engine games make good use of it.

  • Windows: Microsoft no longer supports Windows 10, as Atlus's own Steam pages point out, so a new PC should come with Windows 11.
